Resumo: The main objective of this research is to analyze the processes by which rafters enter the artisanal craft. This phenomenon is a collective experience lived by fishermen from different generations in the community of Iguape, a coastal region in the municipality of Aquiraz, in the state of Ceará. Specifically, we sought to understand how the masters of the territory, based on kinship and brotherhood relations, mobilize specific cultural practices that forge the necessary conditions for young people to become fishermen daily, with the marks of this transmission being imprinted not only throughout the territory but also on the bodies and social imaginary of these men. To deal with these issues, we used the comprehensive method and narrative interviews to understand the meanings attributed by these individuals to the daily unfolding of this phenomenon. Fieldwork, photographs, and other research materials were essential for weaving together the discussions in question.

Fieldwork, photographs, and other research materials were essential for weaving together the discussions in question.O objetivo principal desta pesquisa se assenta em analisar o fenômeno do ingresso dos jangadeiros no ofício artesanal da pesca, partindo das convenções cotidianas que mobilizam no território o envolvimento das distintas gerações de trabalhadores marítimos. Sendo este fenômeno compreendido como uma experiência coletiva, vivenciada na comunidade do Iguape, região litorânea do município de Aquiraz, no estado do Ceará. Em específico, buscamos compreender como os mestres dessa localidade, a partir das relações de parentesco e compadrios, mobilizam práticas culturais específicas que forjam cotidianamente as condições necessárias para os jovens tornarem-se jangadeiros, sendo as marcas desta transmissão impressas o território, no corpo e imaginário social desses homens. O que nos levou a refletir sobre os significados destas convenções na comunidade, principalmente por entender que para os jangadeiros da região investigada estas práticas são responsáveis por articular os processos de autorreconhecimento deles no ofício. Para dar conta de tais problemáticas, nos orientamos pelo método compreensivo, assim como, utilizamos por base metodológica a entrevista narrativa para compreender os significados atribuídos por esses sujeitos ao desdobramento cotidiano desse fenômeno.
