Resumo: The following work addresses questions on the series of linear systems of curves on a smooth variety. The goal of this text is to study the concept of linear systems and introduce de concept of gonality of a curve providing a classification of low gonality curves < 3, in addition to studying the conditions imposed on linear systems on curves in the projective plane with a focus on some properties. Furthermore, we show a lower bound to the gonality of curves that are complete intersections in Pr, r > 1.

O objetivo deste texto é estudar o conceito de sistemas lineares e introduzir o conceito de gonalidade de uma curva, fornecendo uma classificação de curvas de gonalidade baixa < 3, além de estudar as condições impostas em sistemas lineares sobre curvas no plano projetivo com enfoque em algumas propriedades.
