The present work aims to investigate the feminist journalism into the perspective of specialized and engaged journalism, presenting it as a possibility legitimated by the general principles and the good practices of the profession. In order to do this, we determined the AzMina Digital Magazine as an object of analysis for the research, with strict focus on the journalistic content of this vehicle. From a literature review of the journalism theories, we lined the discussion of how the postulates – objectivity, newsworthiness and newsmaking – associated with the function of gatekeeper, have been tensioned in confront with journalism practices with a critical perspective that goes beyond the techniques and the normativity. After that, we contextualize the practices and the categories of the specialized journalism and the perspective of the engaged journalism, seeking to bring the framework of these types to our object. Afterwards, we do a Historic journey of the feminist movement's relation with the press and the journalism, specifically in Brazil, and how this context designed what we know today as feminist journalism. For object analysis we initially carry out an exploratory study of the AzMina Magazine, registering its proposal, organization method, methodologies and editorial principles. The methodological procedures embraced were built based on the content analysis, from the articles collection that were analyzed from the narrative, thematic and source choices, and based with information from the “editorial principles” of the magazine. The results shows that the articles produced by AzMina Magazine, inside a realization of a feminist journalism practice perspective, match with it’s editorial proposal and converges with the good practices of professional and ethical journalism. In addition, the categorization proposal of feminist journalism as specialized and engaged journalism finds a propitious space since is possible to gain in the feminist journalism practiced by AzMina pillars that correspond to those two journalism categories.
