Resumo: This study sought to analyze the impacts of the implementation of the Minor Studies reform of 1759 in Brazil, as represented in theses and dissertations on this topic. We sought to compose a broader picture than most recent studies, which have focused on analyzing the impacts of this reform in a specific manner. Therefore, we conducted research on the historiography of the topic. We also analyzed how the reformist educational process was constructed, clearly inspired by aspects of the Enlightenment, which had as one of its foundations the establishment of educational legislation that regulated education in Portugal and its domains during much of the Pombaline era.

Buscamos compor um quadro mais amplo do que a maior parte dos estudos recentes, que se dedicaram a analisar os impactos desta reforma de maneira específica, logo, realizamos uma investigação, no que diz respeito a historiografia do tema. Também analisamos como foi construído o processo educacional reformista, evidentemente com inspiração em aspectos do iluminismo, que teve como uma das suas bases a edificação de uma legislação educacional que regulamentou a educação em Portugal e nos seus domínios durante grande parte da época pombalina.
