Resumo: This dissertation presents a study on audio description at the Pinacoteca de Sergipe, located in the Memorial de Sergipe Professor Jouberto Uchôa, in Aracaju, with the aim of promoting accessibility for visually impaired people and enhancing the cultural experience for all visitors. The research problem revolves around the lack of accessibility at the Pinacoteca, which limits the inclusive participation of visually impaired individuals in appreciating the art collection. The methodology used is mixed, integrating both quantitative and qualitative approaches, as the object of study requires a multifaceted analysis. The research is applied in nature, focused on solving practical accessibility issues, with descriptive objectives centered on unsystematic participant observation. The general objective of the research was to implement audio description for the artworks in the Pinacoteca to ensure that visually impaired people have access to the exhibited art, thus enriching the cultural and informational experience for the public. The data presented were gathered through unsystematic observation, considering what was experienced daily in the mediation of the artworks. This study revealed that audio description is a device that makes art accessible primarily to visually impaired people, but it can be used by everyone. The contextualization and description result in a unique audio description that allows a journey into the listener's imagination.

O problema da pesquisa gira em torno da falta de acessibilidade na Pinacoteca, o que limita a participação inclusiva de pessoas com deficiência visual na apreciação do acervo artístico. A metodologia utilizada é de caráter misto, integrando abordagens quantitativa e qualitativa, uma vez que o objeto de estudo demanda uma análise multifacetada. A pesquisa foi de natureza aplicada, com foco em resolver problemas práticos de acessibilidade, e seus objetivos são descritivos, centrados na observação participante não sistematizada. O objetivo geral da pesquisa foi implementar a audiodescrição das obras da Pinacoteca para garantir que pessoas com deficiência visual tenham acesso à arte exposta, enriquecendo assim a experiência cultural e informacional do público. Os dados apresentados foram fruto de uma observação assistemática, considerando o que era vivido no cotidiano da mediação das obras. Com esse estudo, foi possível compreender que audiodescrição é um dispositivo que acessibiliza a arte a um público que, no primeiro momento, é o de pessoas com deficiência visual, mas que pode ser usado por todos.
