Barbara Winiarski Diesel NovaesO presente estudo busca responder a seguinte questão de pesquisa: Que matemática moderna do ensino de frações equivalentes foi sistematizada em manuais escolares para a formação de professores dos primeiros anos de escolarização que circularam no Paraná, no período de 1970 a 1980? A pesquisa objetiva caracterizar uma matemática moderna do ensino das frações equivalentes proposta em manuais escolares para a formação de professores dos primeiros anos de escolarização em circulação no estado do Paraná (1970 - 1980). Para responder à questão de pesquisa foram analisados livros didáticos e manuais pedagógicos, dirigidos para o ensino e para a formação de professores, que circularam no Paraná no marco temporal delimitado. Os referenciais teórico-metodológicos estão ancorados em conceitos da História Cultural e da História da educação matemática, principalmente a matemática do ensino e as categorias de análise: sequência, significado, graduação, exercícios e problemas (Morais; Bertini; Valente, 2021). O estudo conclui que os autores dos manuais, com vasta experiência no ensino e na formação de professores que ensinam matemática nos primeiros anos de escolarização se apropriaram do ideário do Movimento da Matemática Moderna, dos estudos de psicologia (principalmente de Jean Piaget) e ressignificaram práticas para o ensino de frações equivalentes de vagas pedagógicas anteriores. Aos materiais didáticos, como, por exemplo, o disco de frações e o quadro de equivalência são acrescentados novos elementos que contribuem para atividade reflexiva e operativa da criança, como contar, colorir, ordenar, comparar. A linha numerada foi considerada um processo visual importante para compreensão das classes de equivalência. O significado das frações equivalentes parte da noção de equivalência e segue uma graduação: concreto, semiconcreto, semiabstrato e abstrato e tinha como propósito a compreensão das operações com frações e do número racional. Vale ressaltar que as autoras paranaenses estavam na vanguarda das mudanças que ocorriam em relação as contribuições da psicologia, novos conteúdos e metodologias. Por fim, os manuais trouxeram princípios da Matemática Moderna, mobilizando a matemática do ensino, para ensinar as frações equivalentes.porHistória da educação matemáticaMovimento da Matemática
