O trabalho dos fãs é concebido nesta dissertação como trabalho amoroso, isto é, o trabalho de ensinar outros sujeitos o que amar e como amar. Através de uma perspectiva auto etnográfica, a presente dissertação investiga os três elementos dessa equação conforme sua presença na escrita de Hockey Real Person Fiction. Conhecido como RPF, Real Person Fiction é o gênero de ficção de fãs que depende da ficcionalização de pessoas reais. Fãs são os sujeitos; pessoas reais, os objetos. Em Hockey RPF, os objetos são os atletas. É relevante notar que Hockey RPF é, também, ficção de fãs de slash, gênero no qual interações homossexuais são inseridas em narrativas heterossexuais e assim, transformadas. E como amar seus objetos: através das práticas interpretativas compartilhadas pelas comunidades de fãs de slash ao longo das últimas quatro décadas. No paradigma da pesquisa sobre slash, essas práticas interpretativas são centralmente envolvidas com um fazer queer. Por isso, a produção acadêmica acerca de slash caracteriza o gênero como literatura queer. \"Eu te amo\" se torna \"eu transformo você de forma queer.\" A investigação desses três elementos me leva a afastar-me de um relato unidirecional do trabalho amoroso, e a mover-me na direção de uma acepção que dá ênfase à reciprocidade. Essa reciprocidade exige uma reconfiguração do objeto, da fã, e da ação transformadora queer. Em uma nova figuração, o objeto é entendido como nunca tendo sido, com efeito, objeto, algo que por sua vez desestabiliza a caracterização queer dos fãs sobre suas atividades.Abstract: There are three key elements in the equation of love: subject, verb, object. Fan work is conceived in this thesis as the work of love, that is, the work of teaching other subjects what to love and how. Through an autoethnographic approach, this thesis investigates all three of the elements of this equation as they appear in the writing of Hockey Real Person Fiction. Known as RPF, Real Person Fiction is the genre of fan fiction that relies on the fictionalization of real people. Fans are the subjects; real people are the objects. In Hockey RPF, hockey players are the objects. Importantly, Hockey RPF is also slash fan fiction: fan fiction in which heterosexual narratives are infused with homosexual interactions and thus transformed. How to love the objects: by employing the interpretive practices which have been shared by slash fans throughout the last four decades. In the framework developed by scholars of slash fan fiction, these interpretive practices are centrally involved with the act of queering. As such, the scholarship on slash fan fiction has long positioned it as queer literature. I love you translates to I queer you. The investigation of these three elements leads me to move away from a unidirectional account of love and towards the conception of a reciprocal relationship which begs the reconfiguration of the object, the fan, and the act of queering.
