Resumo: The aim of this study was include social approaches in forest planning model that contribute to regional development, meet the company requirements and expand the income-generating opportunities for the local community. In this context, studies case were conducted about the use of the proposed models, considering eucalyptus stands with 2,191 ha, located in three districts and with planting ages ranging between 1 and 7 years. The planning horizon used was eight years and the net annual discount rate was 8.75%. Forest regulation models were formulated according to the model I of linear programming, with the goal of maximizing the overall net revenue of the company. The approaches used included: 1) Regulation of forest production with the spatial stratification by district; 2) donation of small trees (less than or equal to 11.0 cm diameter) to the community at the time of harvesting and 3) anticipation of the forest regulation. The proposed approaches were compared with the usual model of forest regulation. The spatial stratification by district did not reduce the overall net revenue of the company and met the demand for wood. Furthermore, this constraint promoted less variation in annual volume of wood production. The regulation made by donation of small trees resulted in reduction in cost of harvest and, consequently, increasing the company s net income in 7.5%. To the community, it was generated a significant total income equivalent to 0.7% of the company's overall net income. The anticipation of regulation reduced the overall net revenue at 3.38%, but promoted social gain to districts by ensuring that forestry operations would occur annually in each district. The approaches used clearly contribute to regional development by promoting the collections of taxes to the districts and generating income for the community.

The approaches used clearly contribute to regional development by promoting the collections of taxes to the districts and generating income for the community.
