Resumo: | The accelerated process of urbanization has given to perceive, from the second half of XX century, several land changes as a consequence of the development of anthropic activities. These changes are capable of compromising the balance and quality of natural resources, in particular, of water resources. The decrease in evapotranspiration and infiltration, the increased frequency of floods in urban areas and the degradation of water bodies are some examples of these impacts. The development of anthropic activities and the disorganized occupation of the soil contributes to the introduction and accumulation of contaminant materials in the ecosystems, which, in rainy periods, are transported by surface runoff –a major cause of diffuse pollution. Therefore, the objective of this work is to study experimentally the transport of pollutants from diffuse sources, by testing several origin-points of pollution in relation to the outlet of an impervious surface, as well as testing suspended and dissolved pollutants, represented by particles of fine sand and sodium chloride, respectively. The experimental setup consists of a rainfall simulator placed over a rectangular acrylic impervious surface with 8,40 m², divided into four regions, where fine sand and sodium chloride are placed. The results showed higher peak mass discharges for the transport of dissolved material, as well as a shorter time to peak, when compared to the transport of pollutants in suspension. The first-flush effect was observed in all the regions for the transport of sodium chloride, while the transport of fine sand led to this effect only in the regions closest to the outlet of the surface. The similarity in the behaviour of the transport of suspended and dissolved pollutants in the regions closer to the outlet, shows the dependence of these processes from the energy of runoff, which in this experiments was enough to drag the particles placed in the impervious surface. |

Essas mudanças são capazes de comprometer o equilíbrio e a qualidade dos recursos naturais, em especial, os recursos hídricos. A diminuição da evapotranspiração e da infiltração, o aumento da frequência das cheias urbanas e a degradação dos corpos d’água são alguns dos exemplos de impactos encontrados. O desenvolvimento de atividades antrópicas e a ocupação desordenada do solo contribuem para a introdução e o acúmulo de materiais contaminantes no ecossistema os quais, em períodos chuvosos, são transportados através do escoamento superficial – caracterizando fonte de poluição difusa. Portanto, objetivou-se com este trabalho estudar experimentalmente o transporte de poluentes originados de uma fonte difusa, tendo como fator de variação a localização da fonte de poluição em relação ao exutório de uma superfície impermeável e a forma dos poluentes, em suspensão e dissolvidos, representados por partículas de areia fina e cloreto de sódio, respectivamente. A configuração experimental consistiu num simulador de chuva sobre uma superfície acrílica impermeável com 8,40 m², que foi dividida em quatro posições, onde foram distribuídos a areia fina e o cloreto de sódio. Os resultados apresentaram maiores valores de pico de descarga mássica para o transporte de material dissolvido, bem como um tempo menor para atingir esses valores, quando comparados ao transporte de poluentes em suspensão. O efeito do first flush foi observado para todas as posições quando ensaiado o transporte de cloreto de sódio, enquanto que, para o transporte de areia, apenas as posições mais próximas da saída da superfície apresentaram o fenômeno. Devido a aproximação do transporte de poluentes em suspensão e dissolvido, para as posições mais próximas ao exutório, conclui-se que estes são dependentes da energia do escoamento, a qual foi suficiente para arrastar as partículas dispostas na superfície impermeável.application/pdfporUniversidade Federal de AlfenasPrograma de Pós-Graduação em Ciência e Engenharia AmbientalUNIFAL-MGBrasilInstituto de Ciência e Tecnologiainfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccesshttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/Engenharia Sanitária.Recursos Hídricos.Modelagem física.Chuvas – Métodos de simulação.ENGENHARIA SANITARIA::RECURSOS HIDRICOSTransporte de material em suspensão e dissolvido em modelo físico com superfície impermeável utilizando chuva simuladaTransport of suspended and dissolved material in a physical model with impervious surface using simulated rainfallinfo:eu-repo/semantics/masterThesisinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersion-4297417259498638931600600162673199464443160reponame:Repositório Institucional da Universidade Federal de Alfenas - RiUnifalinstname:Universidade Federal de Alfenas (UNIFAL)instacron:UNIFALFelice, Jéssica GiacchettoLICENSElicense.txtlicense.txttext/plain;
