Resumo: | This work proposes the study of gravitational waves in the higher order Starobinsky model. Starting from higher order Starobinsky action, it is possible to deduce the field equations for this gravitational theory. Through the weak field approximation, linearized equations of sixth order derivatives are constructed. Scalar fields are introduced with the proposal to reduce the order of the differential equations and lead us to three second-order differential equations. One tensor equation with known solution; two equations with dependency of scalar fields, which are solved by Green funciton. The solution of these equations lead us to the characterization of gravitational waves in our modified gravity model. |

A partir da integral de ação de Starobinsky de ordem superior é possível deduzir as equações de campo para este modelo. Através da aproximação de campo fraco, constróem-se as equações linearizadas, que são de sexta ordem. Campos escalares são introduzidos com a proposta de redução da ordem das equações diferenciais, resultando em três equações com derivadas de segunda ordem. Uma equação tensorial que possui solução conhecida; e outras duas equações dependentes dos campos escalares, que são resolvidas com função de Green.
