To meet the human needs that have multiplied and diversified over time, man began to transform nature to meet them, giving work a place of centrality in his life, making man a social being. Initially the work was dedicated to the maintenance of survival, but over time it became an object of exploitation for the accumulation of capital to the owners of the means of production, becoming estranged from man and going through mutations and restructurings aiming at higher profit with lower expenses . From the processing of these transformations, various forms of precarious work were developed, such as outsourced, temporary, informal and partial, which intensified with the expansion of managerial reforms aimed at reducing the state apparatus, maintaining non-exclusive activities of the State under the care of the private initiative. Considering this growth of the outsourced work in the public organs dividing space with the effective workers it is possible to evaluate if the sense of the work would be the same for each one of the categories. Considering conceptions and mutations in the world of work, the centrality of work, the process of alienation and estrangement, and the development of precarious forms of work, this study sought through documentary research, interviews and field observation to compare the sense of work for the effective and outsourced workers of the Rectory of the IF Southeast MG. Being the discourse able to portray the structure and the social dynamics, this study used the Critical Discourse Analysis to verify beyond the text, the discursive and social practice that involves the sense of the work for the two categories of workers, realizing that the centrality is present for the two types of workers, but in different ways, considering the precarious working conditions to which outsourced workers undergo. It was also possible to observe in both categories an economic orientation of the discourse when seeking the meaning of the work for each of them.
