Resumo: The present study seeks to contribute to the knowledge of the hydrological regime, which is very important for making decision about the available water resources management in a hydrographic basin. The use of historical series of hydrological records is one of the basic tools for such management, as it provides informations of water availability, checking trends over the years, in addition to being essential for the dimensioning of hydraulic works and for the management of water resources, among others. However, several regions do not have historical records with enough data to carry out these studies. Therefore, working with series with many years of daily data records is often not possible. Thus, with this study, we aim to define the ideal sample series size for historical series of minimum, maximum and average flows. To do so, 19 fluviometric stations from the Paraná Hydrographic Region (RHP) and another 35 from the São Francisco Hydrographic Region (RHSF) were used, totaling 54 stations, with the criterion of having at least 50 years of daily data record. Series of minimums, maximums and averages annual flows were generated for each of the stations. For the series of minimum, the non-parametric tests of randomness, stationarity, independence and homogeneity were applied in order to verify if the stations are able to be worked with probability distributions. Then, the Kolmogorov-Smirnov adherence test was applied in order to verify the best fitted distribution for each station. The series of minimum flows were analyzed from Q7, Q7,10, Q90% and mean. The maximum and average flow series were analyzed using Q90% and means. For all cases, the complete series (with all years available in the original historical series) and the partial series (randomly constituted with predefined sizes of 10; 20; 30; 40; 50; 60; 70; 80; and 90% of the complete series, in addition to the climatological normal) were analyzed. The results of the partial series were compared with the results of the complete series through two tests, namely: PBIAS; and Student's “t” test, in order to verify the statistical difference between them. For the parameters analyzed with the series of minimum flow rates, series with sizes from eight years on of data were statistically similar to the results obtained with the complete series. Regarding the maximum and average flow rates, the analysis of the average parameter of the partial series was statistically close to the complete series from seven years on of data. For the analysis of Q90%, however, there was great variation in the results, including for the larger series and for climatological normals. In this specific case, it was noticed that the longer the series used, the better.

In this specific case, it was noticed that the longer the series used, the better.O presente trabalho procura contribuir com o conhecimento do regime hidrológico, muito importante para a tomada de decisões acerca do gerenciamento dos recursos hídricos disponíveis em uma bacia hidrográfica. O uso de séries históricas de registros hidrológicos é uma das ferramentas base para tal gestão, pois fornece informações sobre disponibilidade hídrica, verificação de tendências ao longo dos anos, além de serem essenciais para o dimensionamento de obras hidráulicas e para a gestão dos recursos hídricos, entre outros. Contudo, diversas regiões não possuem registros históricos com número de dados suficientes para se realizar estes estudos. Por isso, muitas vezes, se trabalhar com séries com muitos anos de registros de dados diários não é possível. Dessa forma, objetivou-se com este trabalho definir o tamanho de série amostral ideal para séries históricas de vazões mínimas, máximas e médias. Para isso, foram utilizadas 19 estações fluviométricas da Região Hidrográfica Paraná (RHP) e outras 35 da Região Hidrográfica São Francisco (RHSF), totalizando 54 estações, com o critério de possuir, no mínimo, 50 anos de registro de dados diários. Foram geradas séries de mínimas, máximas e médias anuais para cada uma das estações. Para a série de mínimas, aplicou-se os testes não-paramétricos de aleatoriedade, estacionariedade, independência e homogeneidade com a finalidade de verificar se as estações são aptas a serem trabalhadas com distribuições de probabilidade. Em seguida, o teste de aderência de Kolmogorov-Smirnov foi aplicado com a finalidade de verificar a melhor distribuição ajustada para cada estação. As séries de vazões mínimas foram analisadas a partir de Q7, Q7,10, Q90% e média. As séries de vazões máximas e médias foram analisadas por meio da Q90% e das médias. Para todos os casos, foram analisadas as séries completas (com todos os anos disponíveis na série histórica original) e as séries parciais (constituídas aleatoriamente com tamanhos pré-definidos de 10; 20; 30; 40; 50; 60; 70; 80; e 90% da série completa, além da normal climatológica). Os resultados das séries parciais foram confrontados com os resultados das séries completas por meio de dois testes, a saber: PBIAS; e teste “t” de Student, a fim de verificar a diferença estatística entre elas. Para os parâmetros analisados com as séries de vazões mínimas, séries com tamanhos a partir de oito anos de dados se mostraram semelhantes estatisticamente aos resultados obtidos com as séries completas. Em relação às vazões de máxima e média, a análise do parâmetro média das séries parciais se mostrou estatisticamente próxima das séries completas a partir de sete anos de dados. Para a análise de Q90%, contudo, houve grande variação dos resultados, inclusive para as séries maiores e para as normais climatológicas. Neste caso específico, verificou-se que quanto maior a série utilizada, melhor.Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado de Minas Gerais - FAPEMIGapplication/pdfporUniversidade Federal de AlfenasPrograma de Pós-Graduação em Ciência e Engenharia AmbientalUNIFAL-MGBrasilInstituto de Ciência e Tecnologiainfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccesshttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/Ciclo hidrológico.Bacia hidrográfica.Gestão de recursos hídricos.ENGENHARIASTamanho ideal de séries históricas de vazões: uma abordagem considerando parâmetros de médias e vazões mínimas de referênciasIdeal size of historical flow series: an approach considering parameters of mean and minimum flow rates of referencesinfo:eu-repo/semantics/masterThesisinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersion-42974172594986389316006006004518971056484826825-1527361517405938873reponame:Repositório Institucional da Universidade Federal de Alfenas - RiUnifalinstname:Universidade Federal de Alfenas (UNIFAL)instacron:UNIFALOliveira, Thamyres Cardoso ChavesLICENSElicense.txtlicense.txttext/plain;
