Resumo: | The current economic debate is centered on the existence of evidence in developed countries that the increase in income inequality negatively impacts economic growth. This paper sought to translate this debate into the Brazilian context, by analyzing the relationship between income distribution and the productive activity of the Brazilian economy in 2009. Considering the structure of the recent Brazilian economy through a Social Accounting Matrix, the model was determined of Social Accounting that supported the analyzes of this study. The most relevant results showed that the productive sectors with the greatest potential to impact the product of the economy are the industrial sectors, more specifically, the chemical complex, part of the mineral commodities industry and the oil industry. It was also found that the vast majority of the 55 productive sectors analyzed have the potential to increase income inequality as a result of an increase in their final demands, with only 17 improving income distribution. The results also suggested that a decrease in income inequality in the Brazilian economy stimulates production, but, like any increase in income in the family classes, it does not favor key sectors in the productive structure, which compromises sustained economic growth. Finally, through two simulations carried out, there were positive impacts of government transfers through Bolsa Família on economic growth. The study also revealed that Brazilian exports to China in 2009 generated economic growth, but did not benefit income distribution in Brazil. In short, the analyzes carried out touched on wide-ranging discussions on the economic development of Brazil and on the formulation of economic policy strategies. In particular, this dissertation contributes to the literature through recent evidence on the topic investigated for the Brazilian economy, through an analytical structure that allows dialogue with many other works and an original methodology to identify the relationship of each productive sector with the income distribution. |

Este trabalho procurou traduzir esse debate para o contexto brasileiro, ao analisar a relação entre distribuição de renda e atividade produtiva da economia brasileira no ano de 2009. Considerando a estrutura da economia brasileira recente por meio de uma Matriz de Contabilidade Social, foi determinado o modelo de Contabilidade Social que sustentou as análises deste estudo. Os resultados mais relevantes mostraram que os setores produtivos com maior potencial de impactar o produto da economia são os setores industriais, mais especificamente, o complexo industrial de produtos químicos, parte da indústria das commodities minerais e a indústria do petróleo. Foi constatado ainda que a grande maioria dos 55 setores produtivos analisados apresenta potencial de aumentar a desigualdade de renda em condição de incremento em suas demandas finais, sendo que apenas 17 melhoram a distribuição da renda. Os resultados também sugeriram que uma diminuição da desigualdade de renda na economia brasileira estimula a produção, mas, assim como qualquer incremento de renda nas classes de famílias, não favorece setores-chave na estrutura produtiva, o que compromete o crescimento econômico sustentado. Por fim, por meio de duas simulações realizadas, evidenciaram-se impactos positivos das transferências governamentais por meio do Bolsa Família sobre o crescimento econômico. O estudo revelou também que as exportações brasileiras para a China em 2009 geraram crescimento econômico, mas não beneficiaram a distribuição da renda no Brasil. Em suma, as análises realizadas tangenciaram amplas discussões sobre o desenvolvimento econômico do Brasil e sobre a formulação de estratégias de política econômica. Em especial, esta dissertação contribui com a literatura por meio de evidências recentes acerca do tema investigado para economia brasileira, por meio de uma estrutura analítica que permite dialogar com muitos outros trabalhos e de uma metodologia original para identificar a relação de cada setor produtivo com a distribuição da renda.Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPESapplication/pdfporUniversidade Federal de AlfenasPrograma de Pós-Graduação em EconomiaUNIFAL-MGBrasilInstituto de Ciências Sociais Aplicadasinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessDistribuição de rendaDesigualdadeEstrutura produtivaDesempenho econômicoModelo de Contabilidade SocialIncome distributionInequalityProductive structureEconomic performanceSocial Accounting ModelCIENCIAS SOCIAIS APLICADAS::ECONOMIACIENCIAS SOCIAIS APLICADASA distribuição de renda e a estrutura da economia brasileirainfo:eu-repo/semantics/masterThesisinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersion-3328065159938307742600600600600-2504903392600098822-19880619442701333922075167498588264571reponame:Repositório Institucional da Universidade Federal de Alfenas - RiUnifalinstname:Universidade Federal de Alfenas (UNIFAL)instacron:UNIFALToledo, Vicente AlvesLICENSElicense.txtlicense.txttext/plain;
