Resumo: Water erosion is one of the main soil degradation processes and land cover changes can intensify it. Thus, modeling soil erosion studies associated with the multitemporal analysis of land use are important to assess the effects of such changes in sediment production. Therefore, according with the land use changes from 1986 to 2011, the objective of this work was to estimate the water erosion in Latosols of Ribeirão Caçús watershed, southern Minas Gerais State, southeastern Brazil, by the Revised Universal Soil Loss Equation (RUSLE) and to compare with the soil loss tolerance (SLT). The RUSLE, created in the end of the twentieth century, is an adaptation of the Universal Soil Loss Equation (USLE), because its parameters are calculated with adjustments in seasonal variations and the geographic information system (GIS) techniques. These models are more applied in water erosion estimate due to availability and simplicity of information. Both are based on the formula: A = R*K*LS*C*P, where: A is the soil loss; R is the rainfall erosivity; K is the soil erodibility; LS is the topographic factor; C is the soil management and use factor and P is the support practice factor. In this work the R factor was obtained from literature; the K factor was obtained by application of estimating indirect model; the LS factor was obtained from digital elevation model (DEM); the C factor was obtained by soil use multitemporal mapping using GIS and remote sensing techniques from satellite images, and the C values were obtained from literature. The P factor is the poorest in literature and was not considered. Results indicate that changes in land use intensified the erosive process. In terms of area, soil loss values above of the SLT increased from 7.9% in 1986 to 8.4% in 2011. This growth was due to the decrease of pasture lands and native forest and increase of bare soil and sugarcane, corn and coffee crops areas. The RUSLE model associated with GIS is one simple and useful tool that allows identifying areas of soil degraded and to auxiliary in definition of soil recovery and conservation measures.

Assim, os estudos de modelagem de erosão hídrica associados às análises multitemporais do uso do solo são importantes para avaliar os efeitos de tais mudanças na produção de sedimentos. Portanto, diante das alterações no uso solo de 1986 a 2011, o objetivo desse trabalho foi estimar a erosão hídrica nas unidades de solo Latossolo vermelho distrófico nos relevos plano (LVd1), suave ondulado (LVd2) e ondulado (LVd3) da sub-bacia hidrográfica do Ribeirão Caçús, sul do Estado de Minas Gerais, Sudeste do Brasil, a partir da Revised Universal Soil Loss Equation (RUSLE) e comparar com a tolerância de perda de solo (TPS). A RUSLE, criada no fim do século XX, é uma adaptação da Universal Soil Loss Equation (USLE), pois seus parâmetros são calculados com ajustes às variações sazonais e técnicas de sistema de informação geográfica (SIG). Esses modelos são mais aplicados na estimativa da erosão hídrica, devido à simplicidade e a disponibilidade de informações. Ambos são baseadas na formula: A = R*K*LS*C*P, em que: A é aperda de solo; R é a erosividade da chuva; K é a erodibilidade do solo; LS é o fator topográfico; C é o fator uso e manejo do solo e P é o fator práticas conservacionistas. Neste trabalho, o fator R foi obtido da literatura; o fator K foi obtido pela aplicação de modelo indireto de estimativa; o fator LS foi obtido com técnicas de SIG, a partir de Modelo Digital de Elevação (MDE); o fator C foi obtido por mapeamento multitemporal do uso do solo, por meio de técnicas de SIG e sensoriamento remoto a partir de imagens de satélite, e os valores de C para os respectivos usos do solo foram obtidos da literatura. O fator P, o mais carente de dados na literatura, foi desconsiderado. Os resultados apontam que as alterações no uso do solo intensificaram o processo erosivo. Em termos de área, valores de perda de solo acima da TPS aumentaram de 7,9%, em 1986, para 8,4%, em 2011. Este crescimento foi devido à diminuição das áreas de pastagens e de mata nativa e aumento das áreas com solo exposto e de cultivos de café, milho e cana-de-açúcar.
