Resumo: Pain is a symptom and one of the most frequent causes of seeking medical care. Among the chronic diseases, chronic pain in the spine can be highlighted, which have a negative impact on the quality of life of individuals. In this context, it is important to develop strategies aimed at pain control in the population, such as low-power Laser auriculotherapy. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of Laser auricular acupuncture on chronic spinal pain. This is a randomized controlled clinical trial in which volunteers underwent three evaluations, an pre-intervention; a post-intervention that was immediately after the end of the last intervention session and, 15 days after the end of treatment, denominated follow-up. The variables evaluated were instrument of characterization of the volunteer, pain intensity, nociceptive threshold in relation to mechanical stimulus, the greatest and least pain in the last seven days. In addition, the volunteers were divided into two groups using the Randomizer randomization software: control group (CG, n=23), which did not receive intervention, and experimental group (EG, n=24), which was submitted to 10 sessions of Laser ear acupuncture twice a week. The DCM 808 nm infrared low intensity (Therapy EC) Laser was used, with emission power of 100mW and a 4 Joules per point stimulated dosage. Then, for statistical analysis, the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) statistical program was used and the significance level adopted was 5%. The results showed that after the 10 sessions of auriculotherapy with Laser, there was a difference between the groups for the variables pain intensity, greater and lesser pain in the last seven days in the moments after intervention and follow up. There was a significant reduction in these three variables between the post and pre (p=<0.001) and follow up and pre (p=<0.001) moments for the EG. It was possible to observe that the EG showed clinical improvement, in relation to the variable pain intensity, between the pre and post (65,20%), pre and follow up moments (58,62%) when compared to the control group. For the nociceptive threshold, there was a significant increase in The EG between the pre and post intervention (p=0.017) and pre- and follow-up (p=0.016) moments. On the other hand, the CG showed a significant reduction in the nociceptive threshold between the pre- and post-intervention (p=0.001) and pre-and-follow-up (p=<0.001) moments. To conclude, the proposed intervention was effective in reducing pain intensity, as well as increasing the nociceptive threshold. The effects of the intervention remained in the follow-up 15 days after the last follow-up session with little change in the values of the variables evaluated.

Dentre as doenças crônicas, podem-se destacar as dores crônicas na coluna vertebral, que causam um impacto negativo na qualidade de vida dos indivíduos. Nesse contexto, é indispensável o desenvolvimento de estratégias que visem o controle da dor na população, como, por exemplo, a auriculoterapia com Laser de baixa potência. O objetivo do presente estudo foi avaliar o efeito da auriculoterapia com Laser sobre a dor crônica da coluna vertebral. Trata-se de um estudo clínico randomizado e controlado com avaliador mascarado, em que os voluntários foram submetidos à três avaliações, uma pré intervenção; uma pós intervenção que foi imediatamente após o término da última sessão de intervenção e, 15 dias após o término do tratamento, denominado follow up. As variáveis avaliadas foram Instrumento de caracterização do voluntário, intensidade da dor, limiar de dor frente ao estímulo mecânico, maior e menor dor nos últimos sete dias. Além disso, os voluntários foram divididos em dois grupos utilizando o software para randomização Randomizer: grupo controle (GC, n=23), que não recebeu intervenção, e grupo experimental (GE, n=24), que foi submetido a 10 sessões de auriculoterapia com Laser, duas vezes na semana. Foi utilizado o Laser de baixa intensidade infravermelho de 808 nm (Therapy EC) da marca DCM, com potência útil de emissão de 100mW e uma dosagem de 4 Joules por ponto estimulado. Em seguida, para a análise estatística foi utilizado o programa estatístico Statistical Package for the Social Sciences(SPSS) e o nível de significância adotado foi de 5%. Os resultados demonstraram que após as 10 sessões de auriculoterapia com Laser, houve diferença entre os grupos para as variáveis intensidade da dor, maior e menor dor nos últimos sete dias nos momentos pós intervenção e follow up. Houve redução significativa dessas três variáveis entre os momentos pós e pré (p=<0,001) e follow up e pré (p=<0,001) para o GE. Foi possível observar que o GE apresentou melhora clínica em relação a variável intensidade da dor entre os momentos pré e pós (65,20%) e entre os momentos pré intervenção e follow-up (58,62%) quando comparado ao grupo controle. Para o limiar de dor, houve aumento significativo no GE entre os momentos pré e pós intervenção (p=0,017) e pré e follow up (p=0,016). Em contrapartida, o GC apresentou redução significativa do limiar de dor entre os momentos pré e pós intervenção (p=0,001) e pré e follow up (p=<0,001). Conclui-se a intervenção proposta foi eficaz na diminuição da intensidade da dor, bem como no aumento do limiar de dor. Os efeitos da intervenção se mantiveram no seguimento realizado 15 dias após a última sessão de intervenção (follow-up) com pouca alteração nos valores das variáveis avaliadas.application/pdfporUniversidade Federal de AlfenasPrograma de Pós-graduação em Ciências da ReabilitaçãoUNIFAL-MGBrasilInstituto de Ciências da Motricidadeinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccesshttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/AuriculoterapiaTerapia a LaserDor MuscoloesqueléticaReabilitaçãoCIENCIAS DA SAUDE::FISIOTERAPIA E TERAPIA OCUPACIONALEfeito da auriculoterapia com laser em pessoas com dor crônica na coluna vertebral - ensaio clínico randomizadoinfo:eu-repo/semantics/masterThesisinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersion-3982265566208295260600600-4563701660031038789reponame:Repositório Institucional da Universidade Federal de Alfenas - RiUnifalinstname:Universidade Federal de Alfenas (UNIFAL)instacron:UNIFALMenezes, Flávia Da SilvaORIGINALDissertação de Flávia da Silva Menezes.pdfDissertação de Flávia da Silva Menezes.pdfapplication/pdf1877428https://repositorio.unifal-mg.edu.br/bitstreams/c87bc80c-3bb8-443d-99af-1988325b4287/download86d083cc19845c7c716e35a6a037b63fMD55LICENSElicense.txtlicense.txttext/plain;
