Resumo: This research has as focus the variables of the international life academy from the perspective of four young undergraduate students from a community university in southern Brazil. The intended objectives result from problematizations that assume the form of the following questions: Which reasons took students to study abroad? How do students signify an academic mobility experience during their performance? How is the academic experience significant after the return of the study trip? It is a question of a qualitative research, aiming to approach the experience of academic mobility from the intersubjective dimension, in order to understand how the students mean this experience, considering the temporal dimension of before, during and after the study trip. In methodological terms, for the collection of data, we used the semi-structured interview technique. To analyze the data, we used Grounded-Theory's theoreticalmethodological framework. From the data, emerged three categories: Intrinsic motivations in the desire to live abroad; Adaptations in the process of insertion in foreign contexts; Perceptions of before-after in the experience of mobility. Of the first category emerged four subcategories: Desire to live and to know different cultures and to have new experiences; Expectations, difficulties, aims, fears and stress when faced with the news of approval; Family and close support; Decisions, concessions and intuitions in the departure to the destination. Of the second category emerged three sub-categories: Feeling scared and stressed in the first moments after arrival; Positive reception; Adapting and opening up to new experiences and personal, interpersonal and cultural realities. The experience, understood in this study as the process of before, during and after the journey, is marked by sensitive issues involving determination and dream, fears and loneliness. Throughout the process, it was possible to highlight the relevance that interpersonal relationships play in overcoming difficult moments experienced during the exchange, as well as the analysis of the statements of the research interlocutors gave us directions on the ways in which Brazilian exchange students organize themselves in the face of the difficulties lived in the context outside. In the multifaceted sensations, feelings, desires and also pragmatic movements were, actually, the beginning of the experience of mobility. The exchange students in this study explored the ways in which they meant the process and the investment they had to make, referring to physical, individual and contextual psychic aspects. The illusions fed previously received from the reality an ambiguous answer if considered that one was expected. It may be that, in the case of illusions, they serve precisely to be, at one time or another, dissolved, opening space to others, and so on.

Os objetivos pretendidos resultam de problematizações que assumem a forma das seguintes questões de pesquisa: Que motivações levaram os estudantes a estudar no exterior? Como os estudantes significam a experiência da mobilidade acadêmica durante a sua realização? Como a experiência da mobilidade acadêmica é significada após o retorno da viagem de estudo? Trata-se de uma pesquisa de natureza qualitativa, tendo como intuito abordar a experiência da mobilidade acadêmica desde a dimensão intersubjetiva, no sentido de compreender como os estudantes significam essa experiência, considerando a dimensão temporal do antes, durante e depois da viagem de estudo. Em termos metodológicos, para coleta de dados, utilizamos a técnica da entrevista semiestruturada. Para análise dos dados, servimo-nos do referencial teóricometodológico da Grounded-Theory. Dos dados emergiram três categorias: Motivações intrínsecas no desejo de viver no exterior; Adaptações no processo de inserção em contextos estranhos; Percepções do antes ao depois na experiência da mobilidade. Da primeira categoria emergiram quatro subcategorias: Desejo de viver e conhecer culturas diferentes e ter experiências novas; Expectativas, dificuldades, anseios, medos e estresse ao deparar-se com a notícia de aprovação; Apoio familiar e de pessoas próximas; Decisões, concessões e intuições na partida para o destino. Da segunda categoria emergiram três sub-categorias: Sentindo-se assustado e estressado nos primeiros momentos após a chegada; Recepção positiva; Adaptandose e abrindo-se para novas experiências e realidades pessoais, interpessoais e culturais. A experiência, entendida neste estudo como o processo do antes, do durante e do depois da viagem, é marcada por questões sensíveis que envolvem determinação e sonho, medos e solidão. Durante todo processo, foi possível evidenciar a relevância que as relações interpessoais desempenham na superação de momentos difíceis experiência dos durante o intercâmbio, bem como as análises dos depoimentos dos interlocutores de pesquisa nos deram direções sobre as formas pelas quais os intercambistas brasileiros organizam-se frente às dificuldades vividas no contexto exterior. Nas multifacetadas sensações, sentimentos, desejos e, também, movimentos pragmáticos se constituiu, na realidade, o início da experiência de mobilidade. Os intercambistas deste estudo exploraram as formas pelas quais significaram o processo e o investimento de que tiveram que dispor, referindo aspectos psíquicos e físicos, individuais e contextuais. As ilusões alimentadas anteriormente receberam da realidade uma resposta ambígua se considerada aquela que se esperava.
