Serviço de apoio psicopedagógico ao estudante de medicina: um estudo de caso

Resumo: Researches on psycho-pedagogical support services rendered to medicine students become more and more required, due to its direct relation to their academic achievement and the graduate s good educational background development. Whether they have a healing or preventive character, they may within a humanizing environment understand, know and follow the students academic life, providing them with moments for reflection, developing awareness and finding possible solutions. Therefore, this research was carried out to analyze the importance of psycho-pedagogical support Services rendered to medicine students, identifying the relevant support Services found in Brazil and pick out an outstanding Reference Service aiming at analyzing the possibilities of improvement of a Program developed at the school of medicine of a private Higher Education Institution. This research was carried out based on a qualitative approach, presenting the development of a case study. The methodological procedures included: collection of data of some Services relevant to the Psycho-pedagogical support rendered to Medicine students by phone, e-mail and sites; interview based on a semi-structured syllabus with the person responsible for the Educational and Psychological Support Center (CAEP) of a public Higher Education Institution (IES) in Western São Paulo State; analysis and discussion of the data collected at sites and those in the interviews, examined by means of transcription of the (oral/written) answers supplied by the interviewed subject and which were divided into main points and categories. The results achieved in the analysis point out the difficulty we have faced concerning the contact with the Psycho-pedagogical Support Services of the IES. A few of them do not exist anymore, but the ones which are still in operation acknowledge the importance of such Service, trying mainly to provide support for medicine students, although they are in need of more adequate working conditions. What is also shown concerning its own story is that many of the IES do not consider the Support Service as a priority, and sometimes they do not provide adequate operating conditions concerning infra-structure and technical team. However, what we were allowed to notice concerning the Psycho-pedagogical Support Service provided by CAEP for Medicine students - a solid structured center - is that the latter help achieve the provision of emotional support in face of the academic and personal difficulties faced by those students along their academic life, with a substantial contribution to Higher Education Institutions aiming at reviewing urgently the need to assign the due worth to such a Service as well as to improve the Service rendered at the school of medicine of this university.

Sejam eles de caráter curativo ou preventivo, podem, num ambiente humanizador, compreender, conhecer e acompanhar a vida do acadêmico, proporcionando-lhe momentos de reflexão, tomada de consciência e possíveis soluções. Portanto, o objetivo desta pesquisa foi analisar a importância dos Serviços de Apoio Psicopedagógico ao estudante de Medicina, identificando os Serviços de Apoio relevantes no Brasil e selecionar um Serviço-referência, com vistas a analisar as possibilidades de melhoria de um Programa instituído na faculdade de medicina de uma Instituição de Ensino Superior Particular. Esta pesquisa foi realizada segundo a abordagem qualitativa, apresentando desenvolvimento de um estudo de caso. Os procedimentos metodológicos envolveram: coleta de dados de alguns Serviços relevantes de Apoio Psicopedagógico ao estudante de Medicina via telefone, e-mail e sites; entrevista com roteiro semi estruturado, com o responsável do Centro de Apoio Educacional e Psicológico (CAEP) de uma Instituição de Ensino Superior (IES), Pública, do interior do Estado de São Paulo; análise e discussão dos dados obtidos pelos sites e os da entrevista, trabalhados por meio da transcrição das respostas (oral/escrita), apresentadas pelo pesquisado e que foram separadas por eixos e categorias. Os resultados obtidos apontam a dificuldade encontrada em relação ao contato com os Serviços de Apoio Psicopedagógico das IES. Alguns já não existem mais, porém os que se mantêm apontam a importância desse Serviço, procurando dar, principalmente, assistência aos alunos da medicina, mesmo que necessitem de condições mais adequadas de funcionamento. O que se percebe, também, pela própria história, é que muitas das IES não consideram, como prioritário, o Serviço de Apoio prestado aos estudantes, muitas vezes não proporcionando, condições suficientes de infraestrutura e equipe técnica. No entanto o que se pôde observar em relação ao Serviço de Apoio Psicopedagógico oferecido pelo CAEP ao aluno do curso de Medicina, - um centro de estrutura consolidada -, é que este lhe propicia o alcance de um apoio emocional frente às dificuldades acadêmicas e pessoais encontradas no percurso estudantil, com sua expressiva contribuição, para que as Instituições de Ensino Superior repensarem a necessidade urgente da valorização desse Serviço, bem como para a melhoria do Serviço instituído no curso de Medicina desta Universidade.Made available in DSpace on 2016-07-18T17:54:20Z (GMT).
