• Resumo em Inglês: The dissertation aims to detail the process of dubbing the Mexican series El Chavo del Ocho / El Chavo, the relationship between the original tongue in which the show was produced and its version in Portuguese, understanding voice, translated and adapted for a Brazilian voice, the dubbing. The research focuses on a case study, analyzing the speech / translation of a enunciation to an adaptation Mexican / Brazilian speaks of an utterance. Dubbing is essential in this study, in order to examine how the values of a nation are presented in a culture with different beliefs. By studying the process of dubbing, it's necessary a discussion of the term "translation", in addition to traditional concepts such as dialogism and lip sync. The dubber also has space in this study, performing the functions and features of profession. This work shows the importance of the study of dubbing, considering that it's indispensable for a large part of the population to have access to foreign shows. This dissertation was based on studies of Mikhail Bakhtin, Walter Benjamin, Haroldo de Campos, Jésus-Martin Barbero, Roland Barthes and Stuart Hall.
