• Resumo em Inglês: This study aimed at identifying the behavioral profile of the police officers in the state of Paraná. The place where the research was carried out was the Superior School of Civil Police of Paraná. Specifically, the goal was to evaluate depression, anxiety, social abilities and stress using a sample with some police officers, which consisted of 45 investigators, 9 registrars and 23 forensic scientists – 77 participants. All participants had undergone a selection (civil service exam) that were submitted to the test of knowledge and physical test to fill the respective position. The selection did not include psychometric exam. In order to meet the goals of this study, the following instruments were used: Beck Scales (BDI and BAI), Inventory of social skills (ISK), Lipp’s Inventory of Stress Symptoms of Adults (LISSA) and Factorial Inventory of Personality (FIP). The data was processed and analyzed according to the established patterns for analysis of each instrument. After this stage, the data was gathered in spreadsheets, processed with the use of the SPSS software, categorized in charts and correlated by Pearson's linear correlation coefficient. By the results obtained, it was possible to notice a low level of anxiety, depression and stress in the officers, something that diverges in the literatures regarding the theme, which highlights high levels of the topics mentioned above. Regarding social skills, it was observed that one-fourth of the officers who were analyzed demonstrate low repertoires. It is possible, with the results that were discovered, to suggest interventional programs in the following areas: stress handling, development of social abilities and control of aggressiveness.
