Resumo: Two experimental trials were conducted to determine protein and amino acid digestibility coefficients and to assess soybean meal reduction by animal products with two digestible tryptophan: lysine ratios for pigs. The digestibility trial was conducted to determine apparent and standardized ileal digestibility coefficients for (CDIapDPB and CDIapAA) (CDIePB and CDIeAA) protein and amino acids of corn (M), soybean meal (FS), meat and bone meal (FCO) and feather meal (FP). It was used 15 barrows with T cannula in the terminal ileum, distributed at randomized blocs with five treatments, two periods with three replications per period. Treatments consisted of a protein free diet (DIP) for determination of endogenous losses, DIP + M, DIP + FS, DIP + FCO and DIP + FP. Each period lasted seven days, with five days for diet adaptation and two days for ileal collection. Determined values for CDIapPB of M, FS, FCO and FP were 67.63, 71.89, 65.11 and 65.47% and CDIePB were 85.75, 82.45, 74.67 and 73.65%, respectively. Corn CDIeAA were 87.53% for lysine, 83.67% for threonine, 92.06% for methionine, 80.48% for tryptophan and 86.00% for valine. CDIeAA values for FS were 90.06% (lysine), 80.65% (threonine), 91.38% (methionine), 84.02% (tryptophan) and 84.27% (valine). CDIeAA values for the FCO were 79.55% (lysine), 75.80% (threonine), 81.94% (methionine), 70.80% (tryptophan) and 78.18% (valine). CDIeAA for FP were 69.52% (lysine), 74.13% (threonine), 77.12% (methionine), 66.19% (tryptophan) and 79.77% (valine). The analyzed standardized ileal coefficients of digestibility of M, FS, FCO and FP can be used as an updated reference in formulating swine diets. A performance trial was carried to assess the effects of FS partial replacement by animal products (FCO and FP) in pigs fed two standardized ileal digestible tryptophan:lysine ratios during 15-25, 30-65 and 70-95 kg. It was used 96 barrows distributed in a randomized bloc design in factorial arrangement 2 x 2 (two protein sources X two digestible tryptophan: lysine ratios) with 12 repetitions with two animals for each repetition. There was no interaction (P > 0.05) between digestible tryptophan: lysine ratios and protein sources at any of the three experimental phases. Digestible tryptophan: lysine ratios and protein sources did not affect (P > 0.05) pigs performance from 15 to 25 kg living weight. At 30-65 kg stage, the corn-soybean diet increased (P < 0.03) the CRD. At this stage, it was also observed that the 21 % digestible tryptophan ratio improved the PF, GPD and EA. At the 70 to 95 kg living weight phase, protein sources did not influence (P > 0.05) performance. Digestible tryptophan: lysine ratio of 21% improved (P < 0.01) PF, CRD and GPD. Results of this experiment indicate that diets containing practical levels of FCO and FP in pig s diets during starter, grower and finishing stages can partly replace vegetable sources of protein. Digestible tryptophan: lysine ratio of 21% showed better performance at growing and finishing phases.
