Resumo: This master's thesis proposes an analysis of "The need for representations of black people in history textbooks: a critical analysis for anti-racist education". To this end, high school books from the Carlos Cunha Filho Military Police State College, in Rio Verde, were examined, as well as the way in which such representations are presented, with the identification of perspectives and determining factors. This study arises from concern about the persistent inferiorization and dehumanization of black people in these materials, in order to perpetuate racism in society. The importance of recognizing and valuing the history of black Africans, fundamental in the formation of the Brazilian people, stands out. The objective is to identify the representations of black people in history books, by observing visual elements, in order to detect stereotypes, omissions and historical distortions that contribute to the reproduction of racism and social exclusion. In addition, it will be assessed whether the teaching materials are in accordance with what is proposed by Law No. 10,639/2003, which deals with the inclusion in the official curriculum of the teaching network of the mandatory subject "Afro-Brazilian History and Culture". The hypothesis raised is that the books used at the State Military Police College, Carlos Cunha Filho, in Rio Verde, Goiás, have limitations in the representation of black people, in a way that reproduces stereotypes and distortions that perpetuate racism. The methodology adopted includes systematic bibliographical research and evaluation of figures, using categories such as structural racism and representation, in order to address the topic. The study aims to contribute to the reflection and transformation of curricula and educational practices, by promoting a more inclusive and accurate approach to Afro-Brazilian history and culture, essential for building a more egalitarian and anti-racist society

Para tanto, examinou-se os livros do ensino médio do Colégio Estadual da Polícia Militar Carlos Cunha Filho, em Rio Verde, bem como investigou-se a forma como tais representações são apresentadas, com a identificação das perspectivas e fatores determinantes. Este estudo surge da inquietação diante da persistente inferiorização e desumanização dos negros nestes materiais, de modo a perpetuar o racismo na sociedade. Destaca-se a importância de reconhecer e valorizar a história dos negros africanos, fundamentais na formação do povo brasileiro. O objetivo é identificar as representações dos negros nos livros de história, com a observação dos elementos visuais, a fim de detectar estereótipos, omissões e distorções históricas que contribuem para a reprodução do racismo e exclusão social. Além disto, avaliar-se-á se os materiais didáticos estão em conformidade com o que propõe a Lei nº 10.639/2003, que trata da inclusão no currículo oficial da rede de ensino a obrigatoriedade da temática "História e Cultura Afro-Brasileira". A hipótese levantada é que os livros utilizados no Colégio Estadual da Polícia Militar, Carlos Cunha Filho, em Rio Verde, Goiás, apresentam limitações na representação dos negros, de forma que reproduzem estereótipos e distorções que eternizam o racismo. A metodologia adotada inclui pesquisa bibliográfica sistemática e avaliação de figuras, com o uso de categorias como racismo estrutural e representação, a fim de abordar o tema.
