This master's thesis is part of the Education, Technology and Communication research line of the Stricto Sensu Postgraduate Program in Education at the Catholic University of Brasilia (UCB). Its general objective is to analyze how digital technologies in higher education can contribute to academic permanence and success, according to the perspective of university students in their second and third semesters at an institution. The epistemological basis is cultural historical.The research has a qualitative and quantitative (mixed) approach, exploratory and case study in terms of the nature of the data, descriptive in terms of the objectives. Data was generated using a questionnaire. The State of Knowledge on student permanence, technologies and higher education was carried out in order to support and guide the research. The data generated was analyzed using Discursive Textual Analysis (DTA) and descriptive statistics. The results show that most students find it important to use digital technologies in the teaching and learning process. They emphasize that permanence and academic success are interrelated, at least in four aspects: (i) student dedication, their commitment to studies and the proper use of technologies; (ii) teaching practices and updating the teacher's technical and cognitive abilities; (iii) institutional management and new possibilities for educational management and (iv) the relationships established between education and the labor market, in the search to bring the knowledge acquired with professional experiences.
