Resumo: | With this dissertation we present a research developed in the Masters Program in Linguistic Studies, in which we aim to study the use of kinship terms by speakers of the German varieties Deitsch and Deutsch, in a context of Portuguese-German contact in the west of Santa Catarina, involving the communities of Saudades and Monda?. These communities were chosen due to the preponderance of the use of the varieties in question, in counties that were colonized by Germans and their descendants (HORST; KRUG; FORNARA, 2017). We intend to observe the relationship of these varieties with the Portuguese language, based on social variables such as educational level, age and gender. These factors will be relevant when analyzing the extent to which these varieties are maintained, based on the influence of the country's major language, Portuguese, and identifying whether there are differences or not between one factor and another. The terms that are part of the research are those of kinship related by blood, which means, according to Geckeler (1973 apud HORST, 2011), those that constitute blood ties, such as father, mother, son, daughter, brother, sister, uncle, aunt, grandparents, great-grandparents, nephews, among others, adding up to twenty terms. This information was collected through recorded interviews with the purpose of developing this dissertation and, as such, are part of the research project database to which this study is linked, it is entitled Atlas of the Languages in Contact on the Border (ALCB). In this sense, the research also expanded this data collection under construction. A synchronous study was performed, that is, at this moment, only data collected in 2019 were analyzed. Possibly, in future works, it will be possible to perform a diachronic study from these results. The research project is based on researches already conducted on linguistic contact, such as Altenhofen and Oliveira (2011), Horst and Krug (2012, 2016) and Altenhofen (2011). The theoretical foundation focuses on bilingualism / plurilingualism theories: seen in Mackey (1972), Coseriu (1982), Romaine (1995); languages in contact: seen in Altenhofen, Raso, Mello (2011), Margotti (2011); and Thun?s multidimensional dialectology (1996, 1998, 2005, 2010). In this study, four dimensions of data analysis approached by the multidimensional dialectology are considered: diatopic (different locations), diagenerational (GI - between 18 and 36 years and GII - 55 years or older), diasexual (male and female) and diastratic (informants' level of study: Ca - with higher education and Cb - with, at most, high school). In the analysis, the data are organized and related based on these dimensions, allowing us to observe if there are any differences. The results showed us that there was no disparity in maintenance and replacement of kinship terms. From the relationality of the data, it was possible to identify that the greatest maintenance in German is in men (diasexual dimension), in upper class (diastratic dimension), in generation II (diagenerational dimension) and in the community of Saudades (diatopic dimension). In general, we see that the German variants are more maintained than replaced. Thus, we have a result of 72% of maintenance of German by German-Brazilian bilingual speakers and 28% of substitution, adding up the data of all informants in a German-Portuguese contact context based on metalinguistic and lexical questions regarding the terms of kinship of blood contact. |
