O ensino de ciências naturais no contexto CTSA : uma proposta didática para a educação de jovens e adultos

Youth and Adult Education (EJA) is conceived as an educational modality aimed at those who did not attend school institutions at the appropriate age, with the central purpose of offering quality education, aiming at autonomy, awareness and equal opportunities for participants. The application of the CTSA approach (Science, Technology, Society and Environment) in Science Teaching for EJA offers a valuable opportunity to promote a more contextualized and relevant education for students by integrating scientific concepts with social, technological and environmental issues, enabling a broader and critical understanding of the role of science in everyday life, enabling EJA students to become informed and engaged citizens in their community and environment. Therefore, the main objective of this research is to develop, apply and validate a teaching proposal in the form of an Educational E-book that uses the CTSA approach to teach concepts in the area of Natural Sciences for EJA. To this end, the guiding problem of this research was: What are the contributions of a teaching proposal through pedagogical projects in the CTSA context, designed for the scope of Natural Sciences in Youth and Adult Education?. Therefore, in an attempt to answer it, the methodology adopted was qualitative and exploratory. Data collection took place in a state school in the municipality of Várzea Grande-MT, through the application of questionnaires and semi-structured interviews to five teachers in the area of Natural Sciences working at EJA. The data was processed using the content analysis method, structured in three phases: pre-analysis, exploration of the material and treatment of results. The evaluation of the educational product by the participating teachers was satisfactory, providing data for adjustments to the material and validating its relevance in the school context in which it was developed. In a report, a teacher stated that the CTSA approach contained in the E-book contributed to stimulating creativity in the development of ideas and provided the use of new methodologies to work not only with EJA, but with other teaching modalities. Furthermore, the result of the E-book evaluation leads us to consider the importance of this research in improving teaching practice as it provided both the researcher and the participants with a better understanding of the modality researched and a reflection on their teaching practice.
