Resumo: | This study had as purposeto analyze the perceptions and practices of the management of the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Cear? (IFCE) Iguatu Campus. A bibliographic study was carried out on the theoretical-methodological conceptions about planning, educational management, democratic management, its importance and how it can and should be experienced in the daily school life, as well as an analysis of the official documents regarding the studied subject. In the theoretical referential was also reported on the origin of federal institutes, highlighting the Federal Institute of Cear? and the history of the Campus Iguatu, site of the research. The work was characterized with an exploratory research with a qualitative-quantitative approach. An electronic survey questionnaire with open questions and multiple choices was applied to effective administrative and teaching staff, except for those who are in the probationary stage, which according to Law n? 8112/90 is for three years. Of the fifty-three questionnaires submitted, a return of forty-four answered was obtained, twenty-nine of administrative technicians and fifteen of teachers. The data were analyzed by the content analysis method and the results were discussed as a matter of fact and presented through graphs. It was observed that most of the interviewees have knowledge about democratic management, its importance within the school environment, emphasizing that in order to actually happen democratic management requires participation of the school community in all decisions, this is not easy, but a process always under construction. According to the reports analyzed, it was noticed that in the Iguatu Campus, there is a management practice that is considered democratic, but it is still necessary to improve the participation of all segments, especially in the administrative-financial planning of the institution. |

(IFCE) Campus Iguatu. Foi realizado um estudo bibliogr?fico sobre as concep??es te?rico-metodol?gicas sobre planejamento, gest?o educacional, gest?o democr?tica, a sua import?ncia e como ela pode e deve ser vivenciada no cotidiano escolar, bem como, uma an?lise dos documentos oficiais a respeito do assunto estudado. No referencial te?rico tamb?m foi relatado sobre a origem dos institutos federais, ressaltando o Instituto Federal do Cear? e a hist?ria do Campus Iguatu, local da pesquisa. O trabalho foi caracterizado com uma pesquisa explorat?ria com abordagem quali-quantitativa. Aplicou-se um question?rio eletr?nico survey, com quest?es abertas e de m?ltiplas escolhas aos servidores efetivos t?cnicos administrativos e docentes, excetuando os que est?o em est?gio probat?rio, que conforme a Lei n? 8112/90 ? de tr?s anos. Dos cinquenta e tr?s question?rios encaminhados, obteve-se um retorno de quarenta e quatro respondidos, sendo vinte e nove de t?cnicos administrativos e quinze de docentes. Os dados foram analisados pelo m?todo an?lise de conte?do e os resultados foram discutidos, quesito a quesito e apresentados por meio de gr?ficos. Observou-se que a maioria dos entrevistados t?m conhecimento sobre gest?o democr?tica, sua import?ncia dentro do ambiente escolar, ressaltando que para acontecer de fato a gest?o democr?tica ? preciso participa??o da comunidade escolar em todas as decis?es e o que n?o ? algo f?cil, mas um processo sempre em constru??o.
