Resumo: Pregnancy is a time of intense changes for women, including physical, psychological, and hormonal changes in their bodies. Pregnancy is a period of risk, which may lead to emotional imbalance and directly influence anxiety and self-esteem. The study aimed to evaluate anxiety and self-esteem in women during the gestation period who undergo prenatal care in the urban Family Health Strategies Center of a city in the South of Minas Gerais. It is a descriptive-analytical, cross-sectional, and quantitative study carried out with 201 pregnant women. The study was approved by the Research Ethics Committee and data collection took place in late 2019 and early 2020 through interviews and the application of a socio-demographic questionnaire, data on pregnancy and significant events in life, the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (anxiety sub-scale), and Rosenberg's Self-esteem Scale. Descriptive statistics, Cronbach's Alpha Coefficient, Pearson's Chi-squared, and Fisher's Exact tests, with a 5% significance level, were used for the data analysis. The odds ratio and the logistic regression were estimated. The results found that there was a higher frequency of pregnant women in the age group of up to 25 years old, who were married/cohabiting, Catholic, with a monthly family income ranging from 1001.00 to 2000.00 BRL, and who did not consume alcoholic beverages, tobacco or illicit drugs. Pregnant women reported unplanned pregnancy, usual risk as a type of prenatal care, the second trimester as the gestational age, no worries or problems with pregnancy, a good relationship with the newborn's father, and that they will receive support to take care of the baby. It was found that most pregnant women had not experienced anxiety and had average levels of self-esteem. The variables "change of mood" and "influence of physical change" during pregnancy in women's lives had a statistical association with anxiety. Pregnant women who reported experiencing mood swings were more likely to experience anxiety. Pregnant women who did not say that the physical changes influenced their lives were more likely to experience anxiety. No variable presented a statistical association with self-esteem. The variables anxiety and self-esteem presented statistical association, in which women in the gestation period with anxiety were more likely to have medium/low levels of self-esteem. It is required that healthcare practitioners, especially the nurses, notice possible signs of anxiety and changes in self-esteem during pregnancy in order to monitor and prevent future complications resulting from such changes, resulting in a healthy pregnancy for women and favoring the bond between mother and child. This research may bring advances in knowledge to this field, with the elaboration of protocols, continued education, and strategies that aim to provide completeness of assistance to women, resulting in improved self-esteem and the non-occurrence of anxiety throughout the entire gravidic-puerperal cycle.

O estudo teve como objetivo avaliar a ansiedade e a autoestima em mulheres no período gestacional que realizam pré-natal nas Estratégias Saúde da Família urbanas de um município do Sul de Minas Gerais. Trata-se de um estudo descritivo-analítico, transversal e quantitativo realizado com 201 gestantes. O estudo foi aprovado pelo Comitê de Ética em Pesquisa e a coleta de dados ocorreu no final de 2019 e no início de 2020, por meio de entrevista e de aplicação de um questionário sociodemográfico, dados sobre a gestação e eventos marcantes na vida, da Escala de Ansiedade e Depressão (subescala de ansiedade) e da Escala de Autoestima de Rosenberg. Para a análise de dados, utilizaram-se a estatística descritiva, o Coeficiente Alfa de Cronbach, os testes Qui-quadrado de Pearson e Exato de Fisher, com nível de significância de 5%. Estimou-se o odds ratio e a regressão logística. Como resultados, encontrou-se que houve maior frequência de gestantes na faixa etária de até 25 anos, casadas/com companheiro(a), católicas, com renda familiar mensal entre 1001,00 e 2000,00 reais, e que não consumiam bebida alcoólica, tabaco e drogas ilícitas. As gestantes relataram gravidez não planejada, risco habitual como tipo de pré-natal, o segundo trimestre como idade gestacional, não terem preocupação nem problema com a gravidez, uma boa relação com o pai do recémnascido e que terão ajuda para cuidar do bebê. Encontrou-se que a maioria das gestantes não possuía ansiedade e apresentava autoestima média. As variáveis mudança de humor e influência da mudança física durante a gestação na vida da mulher tiveram associação estatística com a ansiedade. As gestantes que relataram ter mudança de humor possuíam mais chances de apresentar ansiedade. Já aquelas gestantes que não afirmaram que a mudança física teve influência em suas vidas, apresentaram mais chances de ter ansiedade. Nenhuma variável apresentou associação estatística com a autoestima. As variáveis ansiedade e autoestima apresentaram associação estatística, em que as mulheres no período gestacional com ansiedade tiveram mais chances de apresentar autoestima média/baixa. É necessário que o profissional de saúde, principalmente o enfermeiro, perceba, durante o decorrer da gestação, possíveis sinais de surgimento de ansiedade e de alterações na autoestima, a fim de acompanhar e de prevenir futuras complicações decorrentes de tais alterações, resultando em uma gestação saudável para a mulher e no favorecimento do vínculo entre o binômio mãe/filho. Esta pesquisa poderá trazer avanços no conhecimento da área, com elaboração de protocolos, de educações continuadas e de estratégias que visem à integralidade da assistência à mulher, resultando em melhoria da autoestima e da não ocorrência da ansiedade em todo o ciclo gravídico-puerperal.application/pdfporUniversidade Federal de AlfenasPrograma de Pós-Graduação em EnfermagemUNIFAL-MGBrasilEscola de Enfermageminfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccesshttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/GravidezSaúde da MulherAnsiedadeAutoimagemEnfermagemSAUDE COLETIVA::SAUDE PUBLICAAvaliação da ansiedade e da autoestima em mulheres no período gestacionalinfo:eu-repo/semantics/masterThesisinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersion-32045805305363604936006003112649244584600979reponame:Repositório Institucional da Universidade Federal de Alfenas - RiUnifalinstname:Universidade Federal de Alfenas (UNIFAL)instacron:UNIFALNery, Nathália GianiniLICENSElicense.txtlicense.txttext/plain;
